1.GAMEPLAY
1.0 OBJECTIVE
The objective of LaserChess is to use your fleet of ships to guide your laser beam towards your
opponents' Command Center. You win the game if your Command Center is the only one left in play!
1.1 GAME PIECES
Command Center: -Marked with a star. It is very vulnerable and will explode if hit from any side.
-Can move 1 space in any direction or rotate 90 degrees left or right.
Guardian Ships: -Marked with a small V notch. These are your bodyguards. They are safe if hit from
the front. But they will explode if hit from the side or the back.
-Can move 1 space in any direction or rotate 90 left or right.
Scouting Ships: -Displayed as a triangle. These ships are able to reflect your laser beam at right angles
if hit from the front. But they will explode if hit from the back.
-Can move 1 space in any direction or rotate 90 degrees left or right.
Carrier Ships : -Displayed as a thick diagonal line. These ships will reflect and incoming laser beam at
a right angle, thus they cannot be destroyed. As an added bonus, Carrier Ships can swap
places with any adjacent Scouting, Guardian or Command Center.
-Can move 1 space in any direction or rotate 90 left or right.
-Can swap places with any adjacent piece other than other Carrier Ships.
Low-Orbital Ion Cannon:
-Displayed as a square with a small dot. This is your firepower! An ultra-high powered
laser beam will shoot from the black dot at the end of your turn. It cannot move from
its position but if you are lucky and skilled you can destroy your opponents' Command Center.
-Can only rotate 90 degrees to the left or right.
-Can not face away from the play area.
1.2 PHASES
Phase One: In phase one the player MUST make 1 and only 1 move with one of their pieces. This can be a rotation
or moving a square.
Rotating your Low-Orbital Ion Cannon counts as a move.
1.3 WINNING
A player wins when his/her Command Center is the only one left in play.
2.CONTROLS
To move a piece: first select it using the mouse or arrow keys and 'Enter'. Select an adjacent square to move there, or press 'R' or 'L' to make a rotation move.
